KLN leverages its extensive logistics network across Asia to provide Maxim’s with flexible and agile cross-regional F&B logistics services, accelerating the brand’s business expansion

Key Takeaways:

  • KLN has supported Maxim’s expansion across Asia through cost-efficient and agile F&B logistics solutions, spanning cold chain, warehousing, distribution and cross-border supply chain management
  • Building on the success of its partnership with Maxim’s, KLN aims to empower customers to seize growth opportunities and bring their brands to a broader customer base

When an F&B brand expands beyond its home market, its supply chain is often tested on whether it can keep pace with the expansion. From ingredient freshness and temperature-control requirements to regional regulations and replenishment frequency, every aspect can affect the customer experience and operating costs. As Maxim’s Caterers Limited (Maxim’s), one of Hong Kong’s leading F&B companies, has been expanding across Asia in recent years, its strategic partner KLN has played a key role in delivering cost-efficient, agile and flexible F&B logistics solutions.

Customer Centricity: Deepening the Strategic Partnership

KLN launched its KLN 2.0 transformation in the fourth quarter of 2025 to deepen its customer-centric approach, working closely with customers to provide tailored, forward-looking solutions. KLN’s partnership with Maxim’s demonstrates this approach. From establishing a Central Distribution Centre in Hong Kong and upgrading an automated warehouse in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to introducing an overseas cross-border cold chain consolidation model, KLN has supported Maxim’s at every stage of its growth.

Samuel Lau, Managing Director – Integrated Logistics of KLN, said, “Our longstanding partnership with Maxim’s is built on a shared commitment to sustainable growth. Today’s F&B brands require logistics partners with global network coverage and diversified supply chain capabilities. Leveraging our solid presence and proven track record across Asia, KLN provides Maxim’s with seamless regional and local supply chain support. Building on the success of our partnership with Maxim’s, we look forward to helping more F&B brands optimise their regional footprint.”

Rooted in Hong Kong: Establishing a Central Distribution Centre to Strengthen Local Operations

KLN and Maxim’s began their strategic partnership in 2017 with the establishment of a Central Distribution Centre in Hong Kong to provide integrated logistics and cold chain solutions for over 800 retail outlets and institutional catering locations across the city. Equipped with multi-temperature storage ranging from ultra-deep frozen (-45°C) to ambient warehousing, the centre integrates inbound handling, quality inspection and distribution management, enabling Maxim’s to build a resilient and agile supply chain foundation.

Advancing in the GBA: Supporting an Automated Hub and Laying the Foundation for a Production and Distribution Network

As Maxim’s continues to strengthen its business presence in the GBA, KLN fully supports the operation of Maxim’s newly built automated distribution centre, which opened in April 2025. Across both upstream and downstream, KLN manages end-to-end operations from raw material storage, quality control to automated product warehousing and distribution. KLN has also developed a customised smart Warehouse Management System that integrates seamlessly with the automated equipment system, enhancing operational efficiency and laying the foundation for Maxim’s production and distribution network in the GBA.

Expanding Overseas: Establishing a New Cross-Border Cold Chain Consolidation Model

To navigate the complex global sourcing networks, KLN and Maxim’s have partnered since September 2025 to establish an origin management hub and implement a cross-border cold chain consolidation model. KLN provides one-stop solutions covering procurement planning, quality inspection and outbound logistics. Through a single point of contact, Maxim’s gains greater flexibility in replenishment while optimising its procurement strategy and enhancing supply chain visibility and stability.

Roland Chong, General Manager – Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality Management of Maxim’s, said, “As we expand our business, maintaining food quality and operational efficiency remains our top priority, and KLN has proven to be an indispensable partner in this journey. From operating the automated distribution centre in the GBA to managing the overseas cross-border cold chain consolidation hub, KLN’s comprehensive F&B logistics solutions enable us to stay agile and focused on delivering an exceptional dining experience to our customers.”

Across Borders: Developing a Replicable Logistics Model

Amid intense competition in Asia’s F&B market and frequent supply chain disruptions, F&B leaders like Maxim’s require a long-term strategic partner capable of mutual growth. Leveraging its expertise in cross-border logistics, inventory management and systems integration, KLN remains committed to its “Build for Customers” philosophy, delivering agile, flexible logistics and cold chain solutions tailored to customers’ evolving needs. Looking ahead, the cross-border cold chain consolidation model has the potential to be replicated in other markets, empowering Maxim’s to seize growth opportunities and bring its signature brand experience to a broader customer base.
