Basic Semi to raise prices up to 25% on strong demand from AI, NEVs

Silicon carbide (SiC) power device maker Basic Semiconductor Co. Ltd. (9971.HK) said on Monday it will adjust prices on select products starting in the third quarter, as rapid global growth of AI and new energy vehicles have boosted demand since the start of the year.
Following an assessment of the broader market landscape, shifting costs and its overarching business strategy, the company is adjusting prices to underwrite R&D, ensure product quality, and safeguard a stable supply.
The maximum price hike for certain products will be capped at 25%, the company said. Specific pricing terms will be finalized on a case-by-case basis, factoring in variables such as product categories, order volumes, partnership models, geographic regions and bilateral commercial agreements.
Shares of Basic Semiconductor opened up 1.8% at HK$35.82 on Monday. The stock is up by a cumulative 13% since its trading debut last week.
