MicroPort Scientific’s revenue rises up to 14% on strong export growth

Medical device maker MicroPort Scientific Corp. (0853.HK) said on Wednesday its revenue rose between 12% and 14% in the first half of this year, lifted by triple-digit growth for its international business. But its net loss for the period was roughly the same as a year earlier due to high financing costs.
MicroPort Scientific’s forecast would translate to revenue of about $614 million to $625 million for the first half of 2026, compared with $548 million in the first half of 2025. The company said its overseas business was especially strong this year, delivering 140% revenue growth over the six-month period.
The company’s gross margin from continuing operations improved by 3 to 4 percentage points year-on-year during the last period, as it swung to an operating profit of $24 million or more from an operating loss of $13 million a year ago. On its bottom line, the company said it expects to report a net loss from continuing operations for the latest six-month period of up to $50 million, similar to the $49 million net loss it reported a year earlier. It said $43 million in financing costs, combined with several one-time factors, were responsible for the size of the latest loss.
MicroPort Scientific’s stock is down 37% this year.
