Weilong’s first-half profit ticks up 4% as signature spicy strip sales fall

Leading spicy strip snack maker Weilong Delicious Global Holdings Ltd. (9985.HK) said on Thursday its revenue climbed 6.7% year-over-year to 3.72 billion yuan ($550 million) in the first half of 2026. Its profit for the period rose 4% year-on-year to 766 million yuan.
The company’s distribution and selling expenses during the period jumped 26% to 670 million yuan, while its administrative expenses also increased 11.7%, causing its operating profit to drop by 3.2% to 918 million yuan. But the company still managed to post a slight profit uptick, buoyed by a 16.7% increase in finance income alongside a 30% drop in finance costs.
Sales from the company’s signature spicy strip snacks dropped nearly 10% to 1.18 billion yuan from 1.3 billion yuan a year earlier. Weilong attributed the slump to adjustments in its resource allocation and the impact of dwindling foot traffic at traditional offline channels.
Shares of Weilong opened up 1.3% at HK$7.98 on Friday. The stock is down more than 40% from its 52-week high.
