AI company SenseTime Group Inc. (0020.HK) said on Sunday it expects to report a 500 million ($74.15 million) to 700 million yuan profit for the first half of 2026, reversing a net loss of 1.49 billion yuan a year earlier and marking the first profit since its IPO.

On a non-IFRS basis, the company’s loss narrowed by 60% to 70% year-over-year from a loss of 1.16 billion yuan in the prior-year period.

SenseTime attributed the improving profitability to narrower year-over-year losses in its core business segments during the first half of the year. The improvement to its bottom line was also driven by fair-value gains on investments from its AI ecosystem enterprises.

Shares of SenseTime opened up 7% at HK$1.505 on Monday. The stock is down 50% from its 52-week high.
