Truck maker Sinotruk (Hong Kong) Ltd. (3808.HK) said on Friday that executive director Zhang Wei resigned “due to work redeployment.” Such redeployments are relatively common for top executives at big state-owned firms, with such employees often moving between rival companies and even their government regulators.

Zhang was previously deputy general manager of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co. Ltd., which is the intermediate holding company for Sinotruk. Zhang, 46, was first named an executive director of Sinotruk in 2022.
