Smartphone camera module maker Q Technology (Group) Co. Ltd. (1478.HK) said on Tuesday it sold 47.42 million camera modules in October, up 20.4% year-on-year and a 1.6% increase from September. Its camera modules below 32 megapixels saw the strongest performance for the month, rising 45.4% year-on-year to 25.93 million units.

Sales for the company’s fingerprint recognition modules rose 19.2% year-on-year to 18.41 million units, though sales were down 3.3% month-on-month. Within that category, ultrasonic fingerprint recognition modules soared 409.5% year-on-year to 4.94 million units.

The company attributed the year-on-year sales growth primarily to market share gains for both camera modules for mobile phone and fingerprint recognition modules. The sequential decline in ultrasonic fingerprint recognition module sales owed mainly to the impact of customer project cycles.

Shares of Q Tech opened up 1.3% at HK$11.94 on Monday. The stock is up over 80% since the beginning of this year.
