Online gaming company Boyaa Interactive International Ltd. (0434.HK) on Monday said it swung to a net loss of HK$790 million ($101 million) to HK$800 million in the first half of 2026, blaming a steep decline in the value of its bitcoin holdings. The loss compared with a profit of HK$226 million in the year-ago period, when the result was buoyed by a gain in the fair value of its digital assets.

Management emphasized that excluding changes in the fair value of its financial assets, the company’s first-half profit actually surged by 120% to 125% year-over-year, bolstered by an increase in online gaming revenue.

Shares of Boyaa opened flat at HK$2.315 on Tuesday. The stock is down more than 70% from its 52-week high.
