Boyaa continues buying bitcoin, accumulates over 4,000 coins
Online game operator Boyaa Interactive International Ltd. (0434.HK) said on Monday it has continued to acquire bitcoin, including its acquisition of 152 units of the virtual currency over the past week for HK$90.63 million ($11.62 million), at an average cost of $75,899 per coin.
The purchases bring Boyaa’s current bitcoin holdings to 4,468, with an average cost of approximately $68,543 per coin. Bitcoin prices have trended higher recently, reaching $85,000 per coin.
Boyaa said that it began to actively position itself within the Web3 gaming ecosystem in 2024. In addition to significant investments in Web3 games and infrastructure R&D, the company has also acquired related strategic assets, mostly bitcoin. Boyaa says it has created a business framework of “gaming applications + ecosystem development + value storage.”
Shares of Boyaa opened up 4% at HK$3.245 on Tuesday. The stock is down nearly 60% from its 52-week high.
