BRIEF: Anta to open 1,000 Southeast Asia stores in next three years

Sportswear maker Anta Sports Products Ltd. (2020.HK) said on Thursday that it plans to open 1,000 stores in Southeast Asia over the next three years, as it expands beyond its home China market. The company has set up its Southeast Asia headquarters in Singapore and will gradually expand into neighboring markets such as South Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, officials said at an event in Singapore.
Anta said that overseas revenue from its Anta brand grew by more than 150% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, mainly driven by growth in Southeast Asia as well as new offline business launches in the U.S. and Middle East. In the Middle East and North Africa, Anta’s retail network already covers key markets including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Kenya. In addition, the company is set to open its first U.S. store in Beverly Hills this September.
Anta’s revenue rose 14.3% to 38.54 billion yuan ($5.41 billion) in the first half of the year, while its gross margin fell by 0.7 percentage points to 63.4%, and its adjusted net profit increased 7.1% to 6.6 billion yuan. The company operated over 13,000 stores at the end of June.
Anta’s stock opened higher on Friday, closing at HK$93.8 by the midday break, up 1%.
