NetEase Inc. (NTES.US) said on Thursday its revenue rose 9.4% to 27.9 billion yuan ($3.89 billion) in the second quarter of 2025 from 25.5 billion yuan a year earlier, as gains for its core online game business and its Youdao education arm offset a decline for its online music business.

Revenues from the company’s games and related value-added services rose 13.7% year-on-year to 22.8 billion yuan, while Youdao revenue rose 7.2% to 1.4 billion yuan. But revenue from its online music business fell 3.5% year-on-year to 2 billion yuan. The company’s profit for the quarter rose 26% to 8.6 billion yuan from 6.8 billion yuan a year earlier.

NetEase shares fell 3.9% on Thursday after the announcement came out. The stock is up 45% year-to-date.
