Robotaxi operator WeRide Inc. (0800.HK; WRD.US) reported on Monday that its revenue rose 89.6% last year to 685 million yuan ($99 million), while its net loss narrowed 34.2% to 1.66 billion yuan.
By segment, the company’s product revenue surged 310.3% last year to 360 million yuan, while its service revenue grew 18.8% to 325 million yuan. Revenue from its robotaxi operations reached 148 million yuan, up 209.6% year-on-year. Its gross profit increased 86.8% to 207 million yuan, while its gross margin edged down slightly to 30.2% from 30.7% in 2024.
The company attributed its revenue growth to accelerated deployment of its autonomous driving products, including robotaxis, minibuses and sanitation vehicles. The narrowing loss owed to scaling effects, as improved operating efficiency and lower material costs reduced its cost of ownership by 38% compared with 2024. However, R&D spending remained high at around 1.4 billion yuan for the year.
WeRide continued expanding its global footprint during the year, with its fleet growing from 1,089 vehicles at the end of 2024 to 2,113 by the end of 2025. It expanded into markets including the Middle East and Europe. In China, its robotaxi fleet exceeded 800 vehicles, while its registered users rose more than 900% year-on-year in the fourth quarter.
Shares of WeRide rose after the results were announced on Monday in New York, closing up 8.98% at $6.92. But the stock remains down more than 22% year-to-date.
